‘Emptyness’ is an exploration of the suffering of samsara (human realm in Buddhist philosophy).

Inspired from living in Nepal in 2004 and dealing with the culture shock of long term travel once returning home, this work was created. Confronted by consumerism and dissatisfaction amidst abundant wealth in my homeland, and reflecting on the true happiness of the Nepalese people whilst surrounded with fear and materially so little, impacted on the creation of this work in progress.

Performed with ‘Fling Performance Group” as part of the season ‘Interchange’

Presented at Ausdance studio’s for the Adelaide Fringe festival 2005.

"Billie Cook's Emptyness is engaging moment of purity."
