Forestry S.A. Artists in Residence

Billie Cook and Sam Oster collaborated in dance and film as artists in residence, at the Thomas Hill Study Centre, Mt Crawford Forest during November 2011.

2011 was declared the International Year of Forests by the United Nations, and drew attention to the important role people play in the sustainable management of forests, and the role that forests play in the lives of people. This residency program, offered to six artists across various artistic mediums, was established by Forestry S.A, in partnership with Riddoch Art Gallery Mount Gambier, to provide an opportunity for artists to interact and work in a forest environment that has long inspired many South Australian artists.

Works created over this residency were exhibited at Riddoch Art Gallery, Mount Gambier, from June 22-July 29, 2012.
